What are the different types of glass bongs?

Glass bongs are popular as they provide the smoothest hits. Glass bongs are generally easier to clean and maintain, but they are also more fragile than other types of bongs.

Beaker Bong:

A beaker bong is the most common type of bong. It is shaped like a test tube and has a wide base for stability. The beaker bong gets its name from its resemblance to a beaker tube you may have seen in high school chemistry class.

Most beaker bongs have a 45 degree joint angle and use a removable glass downstem to filter smoke through water. The pictured above is a great example of a classy beaker bong done right!

Straight Tube Bong:

A straight tube bong is similar to a beaker bong, but it does not have a wide base. This style of bong is just a straight tube like the name implies. The simplistic design of a straight tube bong makes them a little less stable, but it also makes them easier to clean.

Straight tube bongs also provide the user more control over the size of each hit and it’s much easier to clear the entire chamber of smoke than a voluminous beaker bong.

Fat Can Bong / Chamber Bong:

Fat can bongs typically have a wide cylindrical body and a large middle chamber that houses at least one percolator inside the middle. Fat can bongs usually have a neck that is skinnier than the rest of the body too. The neck can be positioned straight off the top of the body or at an angle that comes off the side of the bong.

Recycler Bong:

A recycler bong is a type of bong that recycles the water through separate, interconnected chambers as you draw from the mouthpiece. This means that the smoke is constantly being filtered and cooled to provide smoother hits.

Gravity Bong:

A gravity bong is a type of bong that uses gravity to fill the chamber with smoke. Gravity bongs can be made from a variety of materials, and the most well-known is made at home from a 2-liter plastic bottle and a bucket.

Modular Bongs:

Modular bongs have interchangeable parts that come apart to allow for complete customization and hassle-free cleaning. These bongs are held together by metal or plastic clips that can be quickly assembled or disassembled for easy travel.

Modular bongs can be built as beakers, straight tubes, and fat can bongs.

Percolator Bong:

A percolator bong can be any type of bong that has a built-in percolator. A percolator (or perc for short) is a built-in glass filter that cools smoke before it enters your lungs.

Percolators come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Some of the most popular examples include tree percolators which have multiple glass arms resembling tree branches, showerhead percolators or UFO percolators that resemble flying saucers, and honeycomb percolators that look like a honeycomb.

Themed Bong:

Themed bongs are a type of bong that is designed to look like something else. Glass bongs that look like animals, food, politicians, pop culture characters and everyday items like the Sriracha Bong pictured below!
